QUICK QUOTE - BOOK YOUR RIDE
Disneyland Paris with kids is one of those trips that can go brilliantly or leave everyone exhausted, and a lot of it comes down to when you go. Long queues in August, rain in November, children melting in the July heat — none of that is unavoidable, but you do need to go in with your eyes open.
The park runs year-round, and every season has something going for it. This guide is honest about what each one is actually like, when it suits families best, and how to get there without the journey becoming a problem before the day has even started.
When: April and May
April and May are the most consistently good months for families. The weather is mild, the park is decorated for the season, and crowd levels outside of Easter week are noticeably lower than in the summer.
Easter is peak season — no getting around that. If that's when your children are off from school, go early, use the app to check wait times, and be patient. But if you can travel in late April or through May, outside of French and UK school holidays, the difference is real. Shorter queues, easier restaurant bookings, a pace that actually feels relaxed.
The Disney Spring season also brings character events and themed entertainment that younger children tend to respond to well.
Getting there in spring: Disney24Cab runs private transfers from CDG, Orly, and Beauvais year-round. Easter weekend books up fast — confirm your transfer early. Fixed rates from CDG start at €65.
When: June to August
Summer is the busiest time of year, full stop. July and August queues for the main rides regularly sit at 60 to 90 minutes. Restaurants fill by noon. The park gets hot in the afternoon, and that combination of heat and crowds wears children down faster than anything else.
That said, summer does have its own energy. Long days, extended park hours, evening entertainment, and a level of excitement that older children genuinely love. It's not the wrong time to go — it just requires more planning.
Arrive at park opening. Take a proper rest between 1 pm and 3 pm when it's at its busiest and hottest. Eat at 11:30 am or 2:30 pm rather than the standard rush. These small adjustments make a bigger difference than they sound.
Getting there in summer: This is when your transfer matters most. Landing at CDG in August with luggage and children, then navigating a packed RER in the heat, is a rough start. Disney24Cab puts you in an air-conditioned car directly to the park — no platform changes, no crowds. Child seats are free, just flag it when you book.
When: September and October
September and October are genuinely underrated. The summer crowds have gone, European school holidays are mostly over, and from early October the park runs its Halloween Festival — which is far better than it sounds on paper.
Villain characters, themed decorations, and atmospheric shows across both parks — younger children often find it exciting rather than scary, and older kids love it. For families who want the full Disney experience without the August chaos, this window is hard to argue with.
September weather is still comfortable. October is less predictable — bring a layer and check the forecast a few days before you go.
Getting there in autumn: Beauvais is popular with budget airlines and sees a lot of family traffic heading to Disneyland. It's a longer transfer — around 1.5 to 2 hours — but Disney24Cab covers this route with fixed pricing from €140, flight monitoring included. No surprises.
When: Mid-November through January
The Disney Enchanted Christmas season is genuinely impressive. The castle is lit up, there are seasonal shows, festive character greetings, and an atmosphere that's difficult to replicate at any other time of year. For families who haven't been to Christmas, it's worth experiencing at least once.
The cold is the main trade-off. December in Paris is properly chilly, and outdoor queues feel much longer with young children in low temperatures. Warm layers, waterproofs, and comfortable shoes are not optional.
The quietest weeks are mid-November and the first half of December, before the Christmas rush arrives. The week between Christmas and New Year is one of the busiest of the entire calendar — if that's when you're going, adjust your expectations on queues and crowd levels accordingly.
January, once the decorations come down, is the quietest month of the year. If your children are flexible on dates and you want the shortest queues possible, mid-January is genuinely the answer.
Getting there in winter: Cold weather, possible flight delays, early darkness — winter travel with kids needs a transfer that just works. Disney24Cab monitors your flight, adjusts for any delays, and gets you to the park or hotel directly. No standing on a cold platform working out connections.
If you can visit during term time, do it. The difference between a Tuesday in May and the first day of a UK half-term is significant — shorter queues, easier meals, and a day that moves at a much more manageable pace.
That's not possible for every family, and the park is absolutely worth visiting during school holidays too. You just need to arrive early, plan your rest breaks, and accept that some queues will be long.
One thing worth knowing: French and UK school holidays don't always fall in the same weeks. A date that looks quiet on a UK calendar can still be busy because of French school breaks, and vice versa. Check both before you finalise your dates.
Disney24Cab covers private transfers from all three Paris airports directly to Disneyland Paris, as well as from central Paris hotels. The return journey is covered too, which matters more than most people expect at the end of a long day with tired children.
Every booking includes live flight monitoring, free child and baby seats on request, English-speaking licensed drivers, and door-to-door service with no hidden fees.
Whatever time of year you're heading to Disneyland Paris, getting the transfer right is worth the three minutes it takes to sort it. Book at disney24cab.com and you'll receive full confirmation with your driver's details well before travel day.
